How many sites do I have to visit?

You can visit as many sites as you like. It is entirely up to you. We are interested in finding out how many sites people decide to visit and if there is a link between the number of visits and your feelings of wellbeing.

Do I have to visit all the sites on the map?

No. You can choose where you visit. You can also visit places that are not on the map. Please add these places to the map.

Can I take my family or friends with me?

Yes. You can take anyone you like with you. There is no limit on the number of people.

Do I have to take the same person to each site?

You can go with different people. Where partner organisations have provided free tickets this offer only applies to the people named on the passes.

What will this information be used for?

This study aims to assess and identify the wellbeing effects of visits to heritage sites for NHS staff. It seeks to understand how much exposure to heritage is necessary to experience wellbeing effects, whether and how benefits may be accumulated, how long wellbeing effects may last following visits, and what the nature of these wellbeing effects may be.

Will people know what sites I have visited?

Only the study team will know what sites participants have visited. Any information that you add to the map will be anonymous. Your participation and all information we collect from you during the course of the research will be kept confidential and anonymous. All files will be stored on password protected computers and only accessible by the researchers. Your email address will not appear in any data accessible to the study team. Your name or personal details will not be used in any research publications. Anonymised quotes may be used in publications, but it will not be possible to identify that these came from you.

What information do I have to fill in after each site visit?

After each visit to a site we ask you to fill in a short questionnaire. We will ask when you visited, how you travelled there, if you visited with other people, how long your visit lasted, how much exercise it involved, and how you are currently feeling. This questionnaire should take you 5-10 minutes to complete.

Where can I get wellbeing support?

You can find more information on the internal intranet. Staff can log in from anywhere using their Trust log in PHU Wellbeing - Home (sharepoint.com). You can also contact the Samaritans if you wish to talk to someone about how you are feeling anonymously. Their contact details are: jo@samaritans.org or you can call them for free on 116 123.
